Mark Taylor
Mark Taylor, MBA, DLP, with three decades of experience consulting thousands of organizations, including Unisys, Ford, General Electric, the United States Postal Service, DHL, and Standard Register Corporation, is considered to be the nation's authority on increasing profit and productivity in shipping operations. He is the Chief Logistics Officer of RedRoller and the President of TAYLOR Systems Engineering Corporation. It’s a big world out there, and shippers are either just beginning to dip their toes into international waters or have been doing business internationally for years. This workshop is designed to: a) provide shipping and logistics professionals with an updated perspective on issues affecting global trade; and b) share insight into critical issues on the horizon that will enable shippers to establish a stronger global presence now and in the future.
We will discuss the international supply chain from the shipper’s perspective, starting with the definition of the supply chain, the players and the key issues of today. These issues include sourcing, market and growth challenges, as well as, a topic of great interest to everyone – the impact of fuel increases and surcharges on the world markets. We will look at these topics from the European, Asian and North American perspectives.
The remainder of the workshop will focus on trade and security initiatives that have emerged within the last year and continue to confront shippers today. This will include: a) various challenges with ensuring a secure supply chain while facilitating the movement of cargo all over the world; b) an overview of U.S. and foreign governmental policies and regulations; and c) overview of new technologies currently being tested and implemented to secure cargo and the impact of the pending air cargo screening requirements.
We will close this session with a tour of the United Air Cargo facility at O’Hare airport, where we will see how one of the world’s largest air carriers is addressing the challenges of moving air cargo in this ever changing global trade environment.

J. Michael Zachary, currently serves as Tompkins Associates Senior Vice President of the Global Supply Chain Services Practice. In this position, he supports the supply chain consulting practice of Tompkins and the infrastructure engineering and planning of related Global Integrated Business Solutions (GIBS) family of companies (of which Tompkins is the consulting arm of GIBS). Mike is responsible for integrating the consulting of supply chain sourcing and movement from point of origin to any destination throughout the world. This includes the planning and design consultation for all road, rail and waterside infrastructure required to efficiently move freight and everyday traffic through both a national and regional infrastructure.

Brent Wm. Primus has worked primarily in the areas of corporate and business planning, with an emphasis on transportation issues. He has received the Transportation Lawyer of the Year award presented by the Transportation Consumer Protection Council and currently serves as the General Counsel for the Freight Transportation Consultants Association. Brent has authored many articles and publications relating to transportation and litigation including Anatomy of a Lawsuit: How to Understand What Your Lawyer Is Talking About. He is the co-author of U.S. Domestic Terms of Sale and Incoterms 2000 and is the C.E.O. for TransportLawTexts.com.
Brent is an active member of the Transportation Lawyers Association and the Association of Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy. He has served as President of the Upper Midwest Chapter of the Association of Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy. Rick Collins began his transportation background at United Parcel Service where he worked for nearly 22 years. He was most recently a Regional Sales Director with a major LTL carrier and has a thorough knowledge of the inner workings of the LTL industry.
With extensive experience in management, operations and outside consulting, UCLA graduate Tim Sailor, DLP has been involved in the transportation industry for over 20 years. The American Society of Transportation and Logistics, Inc. recently recognized Tim as a Distinguished Logistics Professional. He founded Navigo Consulting Group in 1995 after having worked nine years with Airborne Express at which he managed one of the company's largest sales districts and played an essential role in helping Airborne Express gain market share with their large national accounts. Mike Williams is Vice President for Green Mountain Consulting and has global responsibility for contract negotiation and transportation optimization services. Brian Coller is Manager Parcel Freight for Medline Industries, Inc., which processes about 6.5 million mostly B-B parcels annually. Brian has been in the industry for 12 years and in his current position manages the relationship between the parcel carriers and Medline Industries, including negotiating rates, managing the KPIs, assuring shipment integrity and increasing methods of savings within its contracts. Brian also worked for FedEx for 10 years, three in operations and seven as an Account Executive. Medline Industries is one of the top 10 volume accounts with FedEx Ground. Brian has been of the PARCEL Forum Advisory Board for one year.
Kimberly Cox is Manager Customer Service with Bracco Diagnostics. She has been a PARCEL Forum Advisor for two years.
Brenda Jackson is Senior Distribution Specialist for the Internal Revenue Service, which ships about 3 million parcels a year. Most of their shipments are B-C; however, from one warehouse location, the IRS ships almost 700,000 B-B shipments. Most parcel shipments are “paper, lots and lots of sensitive paper.” Brenda has been in the industry six years and currently handles small package negotiation and pricing for over 900 locations within the CONUS. She also reviews and pays all parcels invoices for the Internal Revenue Service as well as providing guidance in shipping practices and recommendations to improve shipping processes, such as packaging and electronic shipping label generation.
Kathy Kuechle is Manager of Postage and Packaging with Fingerhut Fulfillment, Inc. Kathy has been with Fingerhut for 24 years, the last 12 with responsibilities in outbound shipping. Her current responsibilities include managing postage aspects related to outbound shipping which would include but is not limited to carrier rates, invoice reconciliation, researching carrier alternatives, researching over wraps related to corrugate and poly. Shipments include a mix of electronics, jewelry, apparel, furniture, domestics, etc. and all are sent B-C.
Oscar Murray is IT Manager, Shipping Applications, with Ditan Distribution LLC, a Cinram company. Ditan ships about 11 million packages and pieces and about 198 million units. About 90% of the mostly software shipments are B-B. He has been in the parcel industry for nine years. His present responsibilities include maintaining the shipping applications from an IT prospective, while continually increasing its capabilities and functionality. Oscar also maintains all the ISO 9001-2000 documentation on the shipping applications as well as audit all other departments in the ISO 9001-2000 Standard. He has been on the PARCEL Forum Advisory Board for two years.

Green Mountain Consulting focuses on providing industry leading parcel solutions to high-volume shippers such as General Motors, ATT, Abercrombie & Fitch, Pfizer, Novartis and ToysRUs. Mike has over 14 years of logistics and transportation experience, holding senior logistics positions for several Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Green Mountain Consulting in 2005, Mike was Controller for AutoZone's supply chain division and spent four years with Williams-Sonoma as Director of Parcel transportation. Mike is a regular presenter at industry events and a frequent contributor to logistics publications. He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and holds an MBA from the University of Memphis.
