If there’s ever been a time of constant flux, 2009 has proven to be the perfect example. As we all have either witnessed or read in the news, companies have contracted, held their own or in some instances grown. Regardless of the situation, there’s room to streamline processes and find ways to save money, labor and time. American Hotel, the largest distribution company for the hospitality industry, and Kuehne + Nagel, the largest global logistics company, explain how applying a wireless, pack verification and shipping solution saved big dollars. American Hotel was able to save $1 million dollars annually with a 50% reduction of errors, an increase in picking accuracy to 99.7% and dock to stock was 45% faster. Kuehne + Nagel saved $500,000 immediately after implementing a shipping/ASN solution while also offering their customers flexibility. Add to that a savings of 30% to 40% on hardware costs, utilization of existing hardware investment and control over their own software, made the company, giving them a competitive edge.
